Manchester United are hopeful of concluding more deals before they leave for their pre-season tour next month.

Senior club sources have told the MEN work is going on behind the scenes to reinforce the squad and the club remain 'calm' with seven weeks to go until the window closes.

United players report to their Carrington training complex for pre-season training on July 1 and leave for Perth on July 7. United face Perth Glory and Leeds in Australia before their International Champions Cup friendlies with Internazionale in Singapore and Tottenham in Shanghai.

Four years ago, United bought Matteo Darmian, Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger within a 48-hour time period before they flew to the United States for their pre-season tour.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said at his unveiling as permanent United manager on March 28 his preference was for the club to conclude their summer business in time for pre-season.

"There's been so many players written about that we've been interested in," Solskjaer said. "And so many players and agents have been in touch with our administration who want to come here and I'm sure when we decide what we have to do.

"Hopefully we'll get them by pre-season, yeah."

Head of corporate development Matt Judge has been tasked with negotiating deals for prospective signings that will be signed off by executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.

United have prioritised a deal for the Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka but Wednesday night reports they had agreed a fee for the 21-year-old are false. United are interested in Newcastle youngster Sean Longstaff, Adrien Rabiot of Paris Saint-Germain, Monaco's Youri Tielemans and West Ham's Declan Rice as they look to bolster their midfield.

The club have held talks with Leicester centre-back Harry Maguire's representatives but United would have to pay a world record fee for a defender to prise him away from The Foxes. Leicester valued Maguire at £75million last year and the 26-year-old has since signed a long-term contract.

United completed the signing of Daniel James from Swansea for £15m rising to £18m earlier this month and could make another attacking addition, with Romelu Lukaku keen to join Internazionale. United value Lukaku at £75m.

David de Gea has an offer from Paris Saint-Germain and is approaching the last year of his contract but United are prepared to retain him beyond the summer in the hope of negotiating improved terms.
