Triple murder in Delhi’s Vasant Vihar

Elderly couple and their domestic help found with their throat slit

An elderly couple and their domestic help were found murdered by unidentified persons in south-west Delhi’s Vasant Vihar on Sunday morning.

The deceased have been identified as Vishnu Mathur, 80, his wife Shashi Mathur, 75, and their domestic help Khushbu, 24. All three were found with their throat slit. The belongings of their house were also found scattered, raising the suspicion that it could be a case of murder for gain

Police said a PCR call regarding the murder was received at 8.40 a.m. after another maid who used to visit the elderly couple's house in morning found the flat was bolted from outside. When she entered the house, she found the elderly couple and their domestic help lying on the floor in a pool of blood.

Police said the Mathurs were retired government officials. Their son died few years ago in a road accident and their daughter stays in Delhi with her in-laws. Khushbu stays permanently with the couple in the house.

Forensic team have been informed about the incident.
