A new month means a new slate of cinema releases and what a month is July to look forward to.
Kicking us off is another foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Spider-Man: Far From Home , while later in the month, Disney offers us its new CGI/live-action remake of its animated classic The Lion King .
If comedy is what you after then there are the likes of The Dead Don't Die and the latest Horrible Histories movie.
Finally, it is set to be a big month for horror as Hereditary director Ari Aster delivers a brand new fright-fest in Midsommar, before Annabelle finally comes home in the next edition of the Conjuring franchise.

Spider-Man: Far From Home
In our first visit to the Marvel Cinematic Universe following the climactic events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) wants to take a break from life as Spider-Man and journeys to Europe with MJ (Zendaya) and the rest of his friends. However, Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) soon comes calling and needs his help to fight the inter-dimensional beings known as The Elementals. Peter will be aided by Mysterio/Quentin Beck (Jake Gyllenhaal), but is he all he seems? Early reactions are praising the new Spidey film, while critics loved it.

Anna
From Nikita director Luc Besson, this action thriller follows an assassin named Anna (Sasha Luss) whose striking beauty hides a secret that enables her to unleash indelible strength and skills in the world of hired killers and mercenaries. The film also stars Helen Mirren, Luke Evans, and Cillian Murphy.

Escape Plan 3
After security expert Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) is hired to rescue the kidnapped daughter of a Hong Kong tech mogul from a formidable Latvian prison, Breslin's girlfriend (Jaime King) is also captured. It is revealed that the man behind the kidnappings is a son of a former friend-turned-enemy. Now he and his team must pull off a deadly rescue mission to confront their sadistic foe and save the hostages before time runs out. 50 Cent and Dave Bautista also star.
Escape Plan 3 release date: July 5, 2019.
Knife + Heart
In the summer of 1979, Paris-based filmmaker Anne (Vanessa Paradis) is a producer of third-rate gay porn. After her editor and lover Lois (Kate Moran) leaves her, she tries to win her back by shooting her most ambitious film yet with her trusted, flamboyant sidekick Archibald (Nicolas Maury). But when one of her actors is brutally murdered, Anne gets caught up in a strange investigation that turns her life upside-down.

Midsommar
Following up his hit horror debut Hereditary, director Ari Aster brings a new entry to the genre with a strange cult tale. With their relationship in trouble, Dani (Florence Pugh) and Christian (Jack Reynor) travel to a fabled Swedish midsummer festival where a seemingly pastoral paradise transforms into a sinister, dread-soaked nightmare as the locals reveal their terrifying agenda. Midsommar is getting lots of critical love so far.

The Queen's Corgi
When the Queen's (Julie Walters) favourite dog, Rex (Jack Whitehall), becomes lost, he must make new friends and embrace new adventures in order to find his way back to the palace. This animated adventure also stars Sheridan Smith, Ray Winstone, Matt Lucas, and Tom Courtenay.

Vita & Virginia
Virginia Wolf (Elizabeth Debicki) meets fellow author Vita Sackville-West (Gemma Arterton) in London in the 1920s. Despite both of them being married, they embark on an affair that defies convention and later inspires one of Virginia's greatest novels, Orlando. Also stars Isabella Rossellini, Rupert Penry-Jones, Peter Ferdinando, and Emerald Fennell.

Annabelle Comes Home
Determined to keep Annabelle from wreaking more havoc, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren(Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) lock the possessed doll in the artifacts room in their house. But when the doll awakens the room's evil spirits, it soon becomes an unholy night of terror for the couple's 10-year-old daughter (Mckenna Grace), and her babysitters (Madison Iseman and Katie Sarife).

Kursk: The Last Mission
An explosion on a nuclear-powered Russian submarine kills most of the men aboard and causes the few survivors to huddle in waterlogged and oxygen deficient rear compartments, where they anxiously await rescue. It is a race against time with oxygen levels running low as the Russian government plans the best course of action, before finally accepting help from the British and Norwegian governments. Stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Lea Seydoux, and Colin Firth.

Only You
After a chance meeting on New Years Eve while waiting for a taxi home, Elena (Laia Costa) and Jake (Josh O'Connor) soon enter into a whirlwind relationship. Together, they explore what it takes to create an enduring relationship out of a fast love. In our review of Only You, we called the film "a beautifully constructed romance, with two charismatic leads".

The Dead Don't Die
In the sleepy small town of Centerville, something is not quite right. The moon hangs large and low in the sky, the hours of daylight are becoming unpredictable, and animals are beginning to exhibit unusual behaviors. News reports are scary, and scientists are concerned, but no one foresees the strangest and most dangerous repercussion that will soon start plaguing Centerville: the dead rise from their graves and feast on the living, and the citizens must battle to survive. Jim Jarmusch directs an all-star cast including Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Chloe Sevigny, and Tilda Swinton.

Tell It To The Bees
In 1952, Dr. Jean Markham (Anna Paquin) returns to her Scottish hometown to take over her late father's medical practice. The Lion King
In this remake of the animated classic, Simba (Donald Glover) idolizes his father, King Mufasa (James Earl Jones), and takes to heart his own royal destiny on the plains of Africa. The Current War

The Intruder
Scott and Annie Russell (Michael Ealy and Meagan Good) couldn't be happier after buying their dream home from a mysterious and lonely widower named Charlie (Dennis Quaid) in Napa Valley, California. Their newfound paradise soon turns into a living nightmare when Charlie - still strangely attached to the house - begins to show up and interfere in their daily lives. When his erratic behaviour turns to obsession, the young couple soon find themselves caught up in a violent confrontation that threatens to destroy everything they hold dear.
