According to police, Rao had eloped with the minor girl with the help of his friend Ravinder, who was arrested and sent to jail last year.
The girl was recovered and united with her parents.
But, Rao, a resident of Badanpur village of Surir area, was on the run since then. He was arrested from Dhundhi Nagla village of Aligarh district.
Sanjay Tiwari, station house officer of Sakrauli said, “Rao was already married. But he eloped with the minor. He was helped by his friend Ravinder, who kept the girl at his house in order to avoid suspicion. Later, Rao tied knot with the girl at local Arya Samaj temple, and raped her.”
