Get to Know Chicago-Area Shelters Participating in Clear the Shelters

The pet adoption initiative takes place nationwide from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 17

NBC 5 and Telemundo Chicago are teaming up with animal shelters across the Chicago area to waive adoption fees across and help pets in need find forever homes. The pet adoption initiative known as Clear the Shelters takes place nationwide from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Aug. 17.

Animal Care League is a non-profit shelter with limited admission for cats, dogs and other animals. The animals here are provided with medical attention, food. Animal Care League is open for volunteers who want to help give love to the little animals.

Animal Outreach Society members have helped end the killing of adoptable animals in the community. It is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that was started by a group of 28 individuals from different walks of life and age groups, united by their belief in the importance of animals.

Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control (FCACC) counts with different services for animals such as medical attention, pet adoption and help with lost pets. According to FCACC, it has helped more than 19,000 animals that have come into custody of Chicago Animal Care and Control.
