NASHIK: The Dindori MP Bharti Pawar raised
water shortage issue in Dindori parliamentary constituency in
parliament seeking quick response from the government for the region.
Pawar raised the issued during zero hour in the lok sabha to seek the attention of the government towards the water shortage in the constituency that includes Manmad, Nandgaon Yeola towns and regions which receive water scarcely.
"The towns like Nandgaon, Manmad and others receive water at once in 20 days. People are reeling under shortage of water especially in the backdrop of delayed monsoon,"Pawar said during her speech.
Women and children are spending hours standing at the water posts or near the wells or waiting for the tankers to supply the water and at times they have to return empty handed.
The MP also pointed out that her constituency was home to a large number of dams that stored water for her district and other regions including Jalgaon and Aurangabad, but the problem was the water availability for the villages and towns in the district was minimal.
"If the situation continued there could be severe water shortage for the urban areas in the constituency and hence, I draw the attention of the government towards the issues. I request the water implementation of various water supply schemes that could help the people of the region, " Pawar added.
