Nellore woman arrested for cheating Hyderabad firm of Rs 89.6 lakh

A 36-year-old woman from Nellore was arrested for allegedly cheating a Nagole-based company, which supplies soya de-oiled cake, to the tune of 89.63 lakh by claiming to be a subsidiary of a Netherlands-based MNC in an advertisement.

HYDERABAD: A 36-year-old woman from Nellore was arrested for allegedly cheating a Nagole-based company, which supplies soya de-oiled cake, to the tune of Rs 89.63 lakh by claiming to be a subsidiary of a Netherlands-based MNC in an advertisement.
Koduru Neeraja, managing partner of Sonac located at Podalpur, Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, was nabbed and brought to the city on transit warrant. Her husband Suresh Kumar Reddy and another partner Koduru Rama are still at large.
In February, 2018, Sonac Pvt Ltd, Nellore, claimed to be an associate company of Netherlands-based Sonac and issued an advertisement in a newspaper seeking supply of soya de-oiled cake.

Kavitha Chinnaswamy, managing partner of VS Enterprises, approached Suresh on the basis of the advertisement.
As requested, she had supplied soya de-oiled cakes worth 89.63 lakh on an assurance that payment would be made within 60 days between March and April, 2018.
After the material was delivered, the culprits stopped responding to Kavitha's calls . After a complaint was lodged, police,traced the accused in Nellore and nabbed her. She was booked for cheating, cheating by personation, criminal conspiracy and relevant sections of the IT Act.
