Heavy rains lash Palghar, long distance trains affected

MUMBAI: Waterlogging due to continuous downpour in Palghar since Sunday night led to delay in long distance trains.
Between 4am and 5am on Monday, around 100mm rainfall was recorded in several areas of Palghar district, whereas 361mm rainfall was recorded through the night.
A number of long distance trains headed to Gujarat have been cancelled or short terminated.
Trains entering Mumbai have also been delayed.
Suburban services between Virar and Churchgate have not been affected.
