NOIDA: The widening of the third bridge over Shahdara drain between Sectors 14 and 14A towards Udyog Marg, is now complete and will be inaugurated on July 4 by MP Mahesh Sharma and MLA Pankaj Singh.
The 73-metre-long bridge, with a width of 11 metres, has been built at a cost of Rs 6.50 crore.
The bridge will bring relief to hundreds of commuters who travel from Delhi to Noida and face bottlenecks from Sector 14 A towards Noida entry on way to Udyog Marg via Indian oil crossing near sector 1.

The other two bridges that were widened over Shahdara drain include one from sector 16A to 18 near DLF and GIP mall which was opened to public on April 5, 2017 and at Kalindi Kunj connecting Delhi with Noida which was inaugurated by chief minister Yogi Adityanath on January 25 this year.
“We have completed work on the third bridge/road widening over Shahdara drain between Sectors 14 and 14A towards Udyog Marg.
While the painting work is completed by Kiran Nadar Museum of art, the bridge will be inaugurated on July 4,” said Rajeev Tyagi, general manager, Noida Authority.
According to Tyagi, there was a need to widen this bridge to address bottlenecks that were being created from the Delhi side when it enters Noida as well as from the hoover loop from Noida Expressway side on to Udyog Marg cross-section.
The Shahdara drain starts from Chilla regulator area in Delhi and enters Noida at Sector 14 and 14A and then runs parallel to Sectors 15, 15A, 16, 18 and 95 flowing into the Yamuna below Kalindi Kunj bridge.
