A case has been registered against Agarwal and four other unidentified persons under sections 302 (murder) and 394 (Voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery) of IPC on the basis of a complaint given by the deceased’s cousin brother Pramod Varshney, who was present with him when they were attacked.
According to police, a group of around five persons, three in a car and two on a bike, had surrounded Varshney when he was going with his son, Saurabh and cousin brother Pramod in his Alto car on the fateful day at around 8 pm. The unknown assailants shot at Varshney and looted cash of Rs 3.30 lakh after assaulting Saurabh and Pramod. They also took away their mobile phones, said police.
