Maharashtra: At least 6 killed, 24 missing after Tiware dam breach in Ratnagiri district

In an unfortunate incident, at least six people were killed and 24 others were missing after Tiware Dam in Ratnagiri district breached due to incessant rains in the state. Breaching of the small dam, a minor irrigation tank, situated in Tehsil Chiplun of Ratnagiri district caused a flood-like situation in seven downstream villages. Bodies of the six people have been recovered by a team of NDRF, police and volunteers. The dam, which was 15-years-old, developed cracks few months back but was filled.
