DHARWAD: The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) on Wednesday rescued a newborn baby boy sold for Rs 25,000. A woman from Gouli Galli allegedly sold her baby to another baby in Saidapur through a mediator. The woman thought she would not be able to take care of the child due to ill health.
Subsequently, she changed her mind and approached the DCPU, seeking help in getting her child back.
The DCPU lodged a complaint at Vidyagiri police station and rescued the child from the woman to whom it had been sold. The child is at a neonatal care unit in KIMS, Hubballi.
