In a disturbing incident which shows humanity has gone off the rails, three drunk men allegedly kidnapped and raped a dog in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district.

The inhumane incident came to fore on Friday after the dog's parent approached the police. A complaint has been registered but the accused are still at large.

What happened

The complainant Santosh Devi lives in Jalesar Road, with her son, daughter, and four-year-old Pomeranian.

Around 10 PM on Thursday night, the dog went missing.

"I thought she must be sitting somewhere and did not bother about her. But, when I could not find her in the house, I started searching for her at 6 in the morning," she told TOI.

Allegedly, Kumar and his friends raped dog in inebriated state
Rape

Santosh filed a complaint against Dinesh Kumar and two of his friends, identified as Satish and Ashok.

Reportedly, Kumar, who lives in a rented house nearby, lured the dog by offering her an egg. The trio, in an inebriated state, then raped the poor canine.

The dog was later found in Kumar's room. She suffered internal injuries and is said to be critical.

Santosh demanded exemplary punishment for the accused
Details

On the basis of Santosh's complaint, a case was registered under IPC Section 377 (unnatural offense) and Section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, 1960.

"These people have done wrong to her. They should be punished," she told TOI.

Meanwhile, SHO of Hathras police station said a report of dog's medical examination is awaited. He said all accused would be arrested soon.

Last year, eight men gang-raped pregnant goat in Haryana

This horrendous incident brings back memories of a similar incident which happened in Haryana last year. In July 2018, eight men were booked for raping a pregnant goat in Mewat district. The poor animal died after the abuse.
