"There is an upper air cyclonic circulation over south Gujarat and north Konkan. This system is pulling moisture from the Arabian Sea which may result in widespread rains over north Konkan for the next four days. Wide spread area means 76 per cent and above area. Isolated rainfall is likely to occur there."

Other areas of Maharashtra are likely to get widespread rains, the weather department said.

"Rainfall will be fairly widespread over Vidarbha and mainly over northern parts of Maharashtra for the next four days starting from July 4. The Vidarbha region and northern parts of Maharashtra and Marathawada will get scattered rains on July 5," Kashyapi said.

"The rainfall is likely to reduce on July 5-6 in these regions. The southern pastern parts of Vidarbha are likely to get isolated light rains (1-25 per cent of total area while rest of the area may get scattered to isolated rains)," he said.
