Manchester United have arrived in Australia as they prepare for their first fixture of the 2019 pre-season tour. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his side will play their first match when they face Perth Glory on Saturday.

Paul Pogba could be involved on the weekend after he travelled with the rest of the squad on Sunday afternoon. The French international continues to be linked with a move away from United following recent comments from his agent Mino Raiola.

Solskjaer has named a 28-man squad for the pre-season tour, however there are a number of absentees. Fred and Matteo Darmian have been excused for personal reasons, while Alexis Sanchez was injured while away on international duty.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James are both part of the travelling party, however Dean Henderson misses out as talks continue over a loan-move.

Fernandes 'believes United move will happen'

Bruno Fernandes is reportedly calm about his future and believes a move to Manchester United will materialise.

That’s according to reports in Portugal, cited by Sport Witness, that say United and Spurs are both formulating a proposal for the midfielder.

United have made two signings already this summer but Solskjaer is still looking to bolster his squad with more players ahead of the window closing in a month. Portugal international Fernandes is one of the names on his shortlist as well as Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff.

United enquire about Southampton midfielder - report

United and Arsenal have made enquiries to Southampton regarding their midfielder Mario Lemina.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who say United have contacted the Saints over his availability.

Lemina signed for Southampton from Juventus two years ago for £18m, and has been left out of their pre-season tour squad to Austria after saying he wants to leave.

He said:

“The last four months have not been easy for me, with my injury. The coach put his team together. I want to start afresh. So why not leave?

“We have very good discussions with the club. We are in agreement. If I don’t feel good in this project, I can leave.

“They are giving me the opportunity to be able to go elsewhere.”

United 'make contact' over Bakayoko

Over in France, RMC say United, Arsenal and PSG are interested in Chelsea midfielder Tiémoué Bakayoko.

The deep-lying midfielder had a season to forget at Chelsea in 2017/18, before a slightly better campaign at AC Milan last year.

But United fans will surely hope this is just speculation - especially as the report says the club have made enquiries with Chelsea over his availability.

Pogba should 'shut his Instagram down'

Everyone’s got an opinion on Pogba’s behvaiour and former Liverpool man Dean Saunders is the latest to have a go at the United midfielder.

Not over his desire to leave the club or his agent’s comments. But, his social media activity. Dearie me.

Shut your Instagram down,” Saunders said on the Final Word on talkSPORT. “You’re on £300,000-a-week – you don’t need the money,” he said on TalkSport.

“Shut it down and open it when you’ve finished playing football, because you don’t use it the right way. If you use Twitter and Instagram the right way, and say positive things like, ‘great win today’ and ‘thanks for the support’… anything other than that, anything negative or any innuendos like they throw out now, is damaging.

“So shut it down, and open it when you’ve finished playing football. You’re a footballer. You’re under contract to play for Man United and you’re damaging the club.”

Spanish press have a theory as to why Pogba is on the tour

United named Pogba in their pre-season tour squad, as expected, and Marca reports it’s because they have come to an agreement with the World Cup winner that he goes on tour with them while they find a replacement for him.

Raiola and Pogba have both been suggesting it’s time for Pogba to leave United and Marca claim they have both decided three years is enough.

The report claims the decision is ‘not up for debate’ so United have asked Pogba to go on tour while they search for a replacement.

What United did after landing in Perth

The squad arrived in Perth earlier and the club website have given an update on what they’ve been up to since landing:

After completing Manchester Airport’s longest-ever direct flight at 16-and-a-half hours, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and his 28-man travelling squad checked in to the team hotel in Perth.

The group then went for a short walk and stretches, organised to alleviate any stiffness and tiredness that may have resulted from the overnight journey.

The gentle activity around the hotel acted as a precursor to the resumption of hard pre-season work on Tuesday morning, when Solskjaer and his staff will hold a first session at neighbouring cricket ground The WACA.
