LUCKNOW: In another hit-and-run incident, a 35-year-old canteen owner of high court was killed, while his employee suffered critical injuries in Gomtinagar on Sunday night.
The canteen owner was identified as Shanker Sonkar and his employee as Kamlesh Chauhan.
According to police, around 10 pm, Shanker along with Kamlesh was going towards Hazratganj on a motorcycle when they were hit by a car on a flyover in Ujariaon locality.
Persons driving the car did not bother to extend any help to the accident victims and sped away from the spot. Later, passersby alerted the police and the injured were rushed to Lohia hospital where doctors declared Sonkar as brought dead. Chauhan was under supervision of doctors when last reports came in.
Talking to TOI, Chauhan said that for about half-an-hour cops of Vibhutikhand and Gomtinagar remined busy in deciding their area of jurisdiction and nobody cared to extend any help to Sonkar who was bleeding profusely.
He added that Sonkar was managing a canteen at the new high court in Vibhutikhand.
When TOI contacted SHO Vibhutikhand, he said that no accident had taken place in his area, while SHO Gomtinagar said the accident spot came under Vibhutikhand police.
