Lawyer acclaimed as future leader

Cheri Minors

Bermudian lawyer Cheri Minors, a senior associate with law firm Carey Olsen Bermuda, has been recognised in the 2019 Citywealth Future Leaders Top 100.

The list, decided upon by a senior panel of industry leaders and the Citywealth magazine and website editorial team, acts as a directory of the leading legal advisers and financial services practitioners under the age of 40 operating in the wealth management and private client sectors.

Ms Minors is a member of Carey Olsen Bermuda’s trusts and private wealth practice group. The firm says she has a broad practice with a particular emphasis on trust and estate planning structures and compliance and regulatory matters.

Ms Minors also assists the dispute resolution team with various trust and estate planning matters. She joined the firm in May 2018 after serving as legal counsel and group compliance manager with Colonial Group International Ltd.

Partner Keith Robinson, head of the trusts and private wealth practice at Carey Olsen Bermuda, said: “As a key member of our trusts and private wealth practice, it is both fitting and well-deserved that Cheri should be included in this dynamic group of up-and-coming private client practitioners.

“It acknowledges the strength and depth of her professional expertise and the service she delivers to our clients as well as a testament to the strength of the Bermuda trust industry.”

Ms Minors was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2011. She completed the legal practice course in Manchester, England and graduated from the University of Law (formerly the College of Law) with distinction.

Ms Minors completed her LLB in Canterbury, England and graduated from the University of Kent with honours. She holds a bachelor of arts degree in history from Dalhousie University in Halifax, and an associate of arts degree from Bermuda College. Ms Minors is a graduate of Warwick Academy.

Citywealth was launched in 2005 with the purpose, the magazine says, of bringing together ultra-high net worth clients and their advisers and managers working in the private wealth sector.
