Historical Association seeks treasurer, hospitality chair

To the Editor:

The New Scotland Historical Association is searching for two volunteers to serve as treasurer and as Hospitality Committee chair.

The treasurer would be responsible for the safe handling of the association’s funds and for maintaining clear financial records. A financial report would be given at the association’s business meetings. An annual report would be prepared, and the treasurer would work with the Finance Committee to prepare a budget for the fiscal year.

The present treasurer and Finance Committee are willing and eager to assist in bringing the new volunteer up to speed as needed.

The Hospitality Committee and its chair act as hosts and hostesses at the association’s programs. The Hospitality chair would make sure simple refreshments are provided and served after these programs. The chair is not expected to personally provide all the refreshments but would coordinate their provision by other association members.

These refreshments are always much appreciated by all those who attend our programs! The chair and committee also welcome new members.

The Town of New Scotland Historical Association is dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting town history through promoting an appreciation of local history and through providing research, publications, and educational programs.

If you are able to help us out by serving your community and its heritage in either of these two positions, please contact: President Alan Kowlowitz at 518-765-4212 or Vice President Sarita Winchell  at 518-765-2133.
