LUCKNOW: Unabated threats allegedly from the accused and also an inspector-rank officer have prompted the father of the Sitapur school gang rape survivor to shift her to an undisclosed location in the town away from their native village under Maholi thana.
Four members of the family, including two children aged three and seven, who are still living in the village are allegedly being intimidated routinely so that the FIR is withdrawn while action on a plea for police security faxed to ADG (Lucknow zone) on July 8 is pending.
The family has also appealed on the CM’s Jansunwai portal.
Speaking to TOI on Wednesday, the father said the armed accused were roaming near their village home. “I am here with my eldest daughter for the past few days. My elderly mother, wife and two children are living in fear back in the village. The accused are armed with tamanchas (countrymade pistols). They are loitering near our home. The Maholi SHO is constantly pressuring us to reach a compromise with the accused,” he said over phone.
On June 27, the 15-year-old student of a government school had lodged a complaint against a female teacher and four youths, accusing them of sedating her for two years, raping her and blackmailing her with threats of making video clips of the act viral.
In his faxed petitition to the ADG, the father of the girl had sought transfer of the case outside the district and protection for his family. “ The survivor and are family are afraid to stay in their village because of threats from the accused and Maholi SHO... We urge you for better security and justice,” the plea to the ADG stated.
The ADG is on leave. IG (Lucknow range) is holding additional charge. His office said they had received no such application from the family yet.
