PATNA: Police on Tuesday arrested two people – Hiraman Yadav (65) and Ramnath (18) – from a village in Bhojpur district in connection with alleged kidnapping and rape of a seven-year-old girl. While Hiraman allegedly raped the girl, Ramnath filmed the incident.
Although the incident took place on July 6, it came to light on Tuesday after Ramnath circulated the video clip on social media.

“Some neighbours showed the video to the girl’s parents on Tuesday. When the girl’s mother confronted her, she broke down and narrated her ordeal,” Bhojpur SP Sushil Kumar said on Wednesday.
The girl’s mother lodged a complaint in connection with the case at Sandesh police station on Tuesday. According to the complaint, Ramnath lured the girl to an isolated house on the outskirts of the village on the pretext of giving her sweets. “While Hiraman raped the girl, Ramnath filmed the incident. The two then threatened my daughter with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone,” the girl’s mother wrote in her complaint.
Hiraman was booked under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including Section 376 (rape), Section 362 (abduction) and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Ramnath was arrested under Section 66E (punishment for violation of privacy) of Information Technology (IT) Act and IPC sections.
The SP said the two accused were produced before a local court which forwarded them to jail on Wednesday. The girl was sent to Ara Sadar Hospital for medical examination.
