50 dogs poisoned at village in Nalgonda on sarpanch’s order

On Tuesday, 50 dogs were poisoned at Telladevarapalli village in Nalgonda on the instructions of the village sarpanch Papa Nayak. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning. The bodies of these dogs were taken in a truck and dumped at the Nakkala Gandi water project site

HYDERABAD: On Tuesday, 50 dogs were poisoned at Telladevarapalli village in Nalgonda on the instructions of the village sarpanch Papa Nayak. The incident came to light on Wednesday morning. The bodies of these dogs were taken in a truck and dumped at the Nakkala Gandi water project site.
Gaurav Uppal, the district collector of Nalgonda, ordered an inquiry. The district panchayat officer, Yadav, said, “The locals of the village have been complaining about dog menace in the area.
They claimed that a few dogs had been attacking them. Due to such complaints the sarpanch ordered the killing.”
The district collector assured that once the culprits were identified they will be booked under relevant sections. The authorities are waiting for the inquiry reports before identifying those who culled these dogs.
