NEw DELHI: AAP is going to contest the upcoming assembly election in Haryana, which is currently ruled by BJP, with all its strength even though the party had a dismal performance the neighboring state in Lok Sabha polls. AAP had contested on three
of the 10 parliamentary seats in alliance with Jannayak Janta Party. AAP is not likely to have any alliance with JJP for assembly polls.

Haryana state president Naveen Jaihind, who got only around 11076 as party candidate from Faridabad parliamentary constituency, will lead the party in the polls. The party has warned the workers of disciplinary action if they are found indulging in anti-party activities or leveling allegations against party colleagues in media or social media.
After Delhi and Punjab, AAP believes Haryana to be the most fertile land for its kind of politics to grow and has been making a lot of attempts to revive the party organisation. Earlier this year, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal had made several visits to Haryana to ensure that AAP puts up a good performance in the Lok Sabha election. Haryana was the breaking point for the AAP-Congress alliance in the general election. AAP had demanded that Congress extend the alliance to Haryana, apart from Delhi.
The party has devised a clear strategy for the selection of candidates for Haryana. Individuals whose integrity is beyond doubt and who do not have any criminal records would be given preference in the selection process where social activities and the capability to generate resources for contesting the elections would also be considered.
In a letter to the party workers AAP co-in-charge of Haryana Sushil Gupta stated that the shortlisting of candidates will be done by him and the state president but the final decision will be taken by party chief Arvind Kejriwal.

In a bid to strengthen the party before the polls, AAP has also decided to appoint three working presidents who will be given responsibilities of separate regions within the state so that they can focus on micro issues and revive the party. The frontal organizations of the party would also be rejuvenated.
“The party will reach out to the sulking workers and will give them important responsibilities so that new workers are added into the party and the party is strengthened,” Gupta stated in the letter.
AAP will form committees at Lok Sabha, assembly and district levels to iron out differences among workers. “Any party functionary who has a complaint, can approach senior party functionaries in person and in case they do not get satisfactory answers they can approach the state president or the state co-in-charge for solving the issue,” Gupta stated in the letter.
