Simon Cowell has reportedly signed Glee star Kevin McHale for Celebrity X Factor .

The singer/actor, 31, is best known for his role as Artie Abrams in the hit US TV show about a high school singing club, and he was previously in a boyband called NLT.

It now looks like he's preparing to cross the pond to take on other big names on The X Factor stage later this year.

The Daily Star reports Kevin has signed on the dotted line.

He's had dealings with Cowell before as Kevin had previously been lined up to land the job of hosting X Factor USA.

The role was initially given to Welsh telly star Steve Jones, but he was axed and replaced by Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez.

Khloe left after one series leaving Mario to present the third and final season alone.

If Kevin does join Celebriy X Factor, he would be appearing alongside former Love Island castmembers Wes Nelson , Eyal Booker, Samira Mighty and Zara McDermott .

The reality TV stars are believed to be forming a supergroup to sing on the show.

The Mirror revealed the Love Island team will be competing against a group of singing rugby hunks.

The group includes Thom Evans, Ben Foden and Levi Davis.

Other stars rumoured to be taking part in the show include footballer turned actor Vinnie Jones and US talk show host Ricki Lake.
