NEW DELHI: With barely
10,000 seats left, and the
new session that
begins on
July 20,
colleges will be looking forward to filling up all their seats. A
special drive is likely to be undertaken by colleges to
fill seats in the
reserved category, which may happen after the fifth list comes out.
Unlike previous years, where Delhi University admissions were going on till 10 lists, this year, despite the high cutoffs, admissions have been quick.
Many colleges are planning to keep the dip in the cutoff marginal to avoid excess admissions.
Most colleges stated that their reserved category seats are yet to be filled.
In colleges like Indraprastha College for Women, the fourth list will mostly be for students from the reserved category.
“Our 80% seats have been filled. There are very high chances that the fourth list will mostly be for students in the reserved category. The general category seats are mostly filled,” said Babli Moitra Saraf, principal of the college.
Similarly, according to the principal of Zakir Husain College, the fourth list will only be for reserved category students.
“The meeting for the fourth cutoff will be held tomorrow but in the general category, our seats are mostly filled,” said Masroor Ahmad Beg.
Manoj Khanna of Ramjas College informed TOI that in his college, the response from students in the reserved categories is high.
