Now, yoga, meditation for Mumbai civic staff
MUMBAI: BMC's one lakh-odd employees may soon begin or end their work day with meditation or yoga sessions. A circular issued on July 1 has directed all departments based at the Fort headquarters and civic-run hospital staff and ward offices to hold meditation/yoga sessions for employees.
The circular stated that to ensure that employees cope better with the level of expectations and resulting stress, such sessions should be held for at least 30 employees and a maximum of 100.
This can be done in batches, if required, it added.
A senior official said it was a good move for employees to ensure that a work-life balance is maintained. BMC also decided that those who attend these sessions will have notings made in their service records.
