PUNE: Sinhagad police solved four vehicle theft incidents on Friday after nabbing a man from Yerawada and recovered four stolen motorcycles and scooters from his possession. The man stole the motorcycles for joy rides.
Police recovered two motorcycles and two scooters worth Rs 55,000 from his possession.
A team headed by senior inspector Duryodhan Pawar, inspector Dada Gaikwad, sub inspector Shivdas Gaikwad, assistant sub inspector Yashwant Ombase, constables Sachin Malve, Dayanand Telange, Datta Sonawane, Shrikant Dagade and others nabbed the suspect identified as Jeevan Subhas Kadam (24) of Yerawada.

The team was engaged in a naka bandi operation and the team members asked Kadam to halt and sought the documents of the vehicle. He failed to produce documents of the vehicle and police became suspicious about his behavior.
Police said that Kadam works for a newspaper distributor and generally inserts advertisement pamphlets in the newspapers before the delivery. He keeps roaming on the city roads during early morning of the days owing to his job requirements.
If he found any unlocked motorcycle or scooter on the road, he would push and pull it over to a nearest key maker, police said.
“He waits near the shop for the arrival of key maker and once key gets ready he drives the vehicles for few days and then abandons it on the roads. In this fashion, he stole four vehicles in last one month,” Pawar said.
