USDA designates two Ohio counties as primary natural disaster areas

Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue has designated two Ohio counties as primary natural disaster areas.

Producers in Morgan and Muskingum counties who suffered losses by excessive rainfall between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28 may be eligible for USDA Farm Service Agency Emergency Loans.

Emergency loans can be used for the replacement of equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or the refinancing of certain debts.

Producers in the contiguous Ohio counties of Athens, Coshocton, Guernsey, Licking, Noble, Perry, and Washington are also eligible to apply for emergency loans.

The deadline to apply is February 25, 2020.

Farmers should contact their local USDA service center for more information.
