Kia Seltos bookings to start from Tuesday: Things to know

South Korean auto major Kia Motors said the pre-bookings of its upcoming SUV Seltos will begin in India from Tuesday. The company said the bookings would commence online as well as on its 206 sales points in the country from July 16. The model will be available in two trims - GT line, which is suitable for the performance enthusiasts, and Tech line, aimed at families.

NEW DELHI: South Korean auto major Kia Motors said the pre-bookings of its upcoming SUV Seltos will begin in India from Tuesday.
The company said the bookings would commence online as well as on its 206 sales points in the country from July 16.
"The Kia Seltos has been built from ground-up, keeping Indian customers in mind and is equipped to redefine the segment," Kia Motors India vice president and head - sales and marketing Manohar Bhat said in a statement Monday.

* The model, upon launch will be available in two trims - GT line, which is suitable for the performance enthusiasts, and Tech line, aimed at families.
* The Seltos will be BSVI compliant right from its launch. It will come in three variants -- 1.5 petrol, 1.5 diesel, 1.4 turbo petrol mated with both manual and automatic transmissions.

* The Seltos is expected to be priced between Rs 11 lakh and Rs 17 lakh.
* The Seltos is equipped with the UVO connect system, which is Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered voice recognition service, and working in collaboration with the safety features that can automatically alert the emergency services.

* The Setos comes with 37 attractive features -- 10.25 HD touchscreen navigation, ambient mood lighting, leatherette seats (Sports seats in GT Line), 2-step reclining rear seats, 60:40 split with adjustable rear center headrest (1st in segment), ventilated front seats, driver power seat, sporty D-Cut steering wheel, sun shade curtains, high-line tyre pressure monitor and more.
* The Seltos wears eight monotone color options -- red, black pearl, white pearl, orange, blue, gray, steel silver and clear white. Apart from these, Seltos will have five dual tone colour options also -- red with black pearl, steel silver with black pearl, white pearl with black pearl, steel silver with orange and white pearl with orange.
* The Seltos gets three driving modes on the basis of performance – Sports, Normal and Eco. To alter the grip and bite offered by road, the vehicle also sports 3 traction modes – Mud, Snow/Wet and Sand.
* The Seltos uses 14-inch rear and 16-inch front crystal cut alloys wheel set up. The GT-Line trim, the Seltos also gets red brake calipers and red accents on side cladding for an even distinctive appearance.
* The Seltos packs a sweeping LED light bar, headlamps, DRLs and unique heartbeat LED tail lamps and ice-cube style front LED fog lamps.
* The Seltos offers the following safety features -- VSM (Vehicle Stability Management), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), Front and Rear Parking Sensors, ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System), BAS (Break Force Assist System) and HAC (Hill-start Assist Control), six airbags, ISO-Fix child seat anchor.
* Anantapur plant in Andhra Pradesh will manufacture four new models, including the Seltos, in the next two years.
* Seltos has been designed and developed keeping the Indian market in mind but will be exported to Middle East, Africa, Latin America and other Asian countries.
* Kia has invested $2 billion in India, including $1.1 billion at the plant which has a capacity of three lakh units annually.
