TIRUPATI: Three people, including the priest of a local temple, were killed in an alleged human sacrifice in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh in the early hours of Monday.
Priest Sivarami Reddy (70), his sister K Kamalamma (75) and a devotee Satya Lakshmamma (70), who came from Bengaluru to fulfill her vow by spending a night at the local Lord Shiva temple in Korthikota village of Tanakallu mandal in Anantapur district, were found brutally murdered with their throats slit and their blood poured over the idol of Shivalinga and anthills adjacent to the temple.

Devotees who arrived at the local temple were shocked to see the three including the priest dead on the temple premises in the morning and immediately alerted the cops. The Kadiri rural police was the first to reach the crime scene. Anantapur SP Satya Yesubabu also visited the crime scene later. He told reporters that the triple murders could be the handiwork of treasure hunters and 4-5 people may be involved.
