MUMBAI: Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Monday assured the state employees' union that their demands will be considered positively. It had demanded that the government implement a five-day week, like Central government employees. They claimed Fadnavis agreed to do from the year-end, and also increase the retirement age to 60, which will be done in a month. State government employees have a five-day week in the second and fourth week of the month, and the retirement age is 58.

Meanwhile, the government increased DA of retired staff; they get 9% of their basic salary, which has been increased to 12%. The state will give the arrears from January 2019. More than 7 lakh ex-employees get pension.
