PUNE: A minor argument between an autorickshaw driver and a man, over dropping pani puri on the latter’s shoe, turned violent on Sunday night.
The incident occurred outside an eatery on Salunke Vihar Road in Kondhwa.
The man Harsh Ghadge, called three of his friends and brutally attacked the driver, Afsar Ansari, and threatened him with sharp weapons.
A night patrolling team caught one of the suspects Satish Jaipal Mane on the spot, while the other three escaped.

Ansari lodged an FIR against the suspects on Monday. Niketan Nimbalkar, sub-inspector of Kondhwa police, said, Ansari had gone to Salunke Vihar Road to collect a printer. He stopped at an eatery to have pani puri and Ghadge was standing next to him. While eating, the pani puri slipped from Ansari’s hand and fell on Ghadge’s shoe, which started an argument between them.
Ghadge, in a fit of anger, called three of his friends, who reached the spot with sharp weapons. The four then thrashed Ansari.
