PATNA: Opposition leaders including RJD and Congress held a protest in front of the legislative council on Tuesday alleging inaction by the government on the prevailing flood situation in the state.
They also raised slogans against the state government. Talking to reporters outside the council former CM and RJD leader Rabri Devi said, “Nitish should undertake a road journey to assess the ground reality.” She also alleged that money is being looted by the officials on the pretext of construction of embankments.

An adjournment notice was brought by chief whip Subodh Kumar of RJD alleging inaction by the state government in tackling the flood situation. “The adjournment notice should seek attention of the state government as well as the Centre towards the prevailing flood scenarios. People have no food to eat or water to drink as relief camps have not been set up for the victims. Rescue operations are not being conducted properly,” he said.
However, acting chairman of the council, Haroon Rashid, rejected the motion and took up the question hour during which some questions, mostly related to health department, were answered.
In response to RJD’s Ramchandra Purbey’s question on unearthing of skeletal remains from a forest close to Sri Krishna Medical College and Hospital (SKMCH), Muzaffarpur, health minister Mangal Pandey said after half-burnt bodies and skeletons were unearthed, Muzaffarpur DDC (district development commissioner) reported the issue to the police and an investigation is on.
