GREATER NOIDA: Three private security agencies have been booked for deploying unregistered bouncers and security guards at residential complexes in Noida and Greater Noida. The step was part of the ongoing Operation Clean, with police checking licences of the security guards and bouncers deployed in 216 societies across the district. One person has been arrested.
Of this, 36 men were found to be unregistered and untrained, violating the Private Security Agency Regulation Act (PSAR).

Incidents of fights between residents and bouncers have been sporadically reported from housing societies. There have also been allegations of developers deploying bouncers along with security guards in some societies which have friction on management of maintenance funds.
“The bouncers were rounded up and were taken to the police station for questioning. They were without uniform and had no licence or police verification in place to work as bouncers. They were asked to wear uniforms and behave politely while at work and an official warning has been given to them. They will face criminal inquiry if caught again,” said Vaibhav Krishna, SSP, Gautam Budh Nagar. He added that the employers of these bouncers have also been booked. While one has been arrested three others are on the run.
Krishna added that during the inspection, three security agencies were found to be working without registration under the PSAR Act. “Separate FIRs were registered against the agencies under Section 4/20 of PASR Act in Phase 2 and Surajpur police stations in Noida and Greater Noida,” said Krishna.
The agencies ARE X-men Security Agency in Swarnim Vihar Society, Sector 82, Golden Metro and Facility Security Agency, Sector 92 and SP Security Agency at AVJ Heights, Xeta 1, Greater Noida. The arrested person, Deepak Nagar, is the owner of SP Security Agency.

Residents welcomed the move and some of them claimed that the bouncers were being used for private policing by a few builders. “The bouncers rough up and misbehave with the residents and visitors whenever anyone tries to protest against the bad services of private builders. It is a great initiative to check their behaviour and educate them on how to work like civilised people,” said Ashish Parashar, secretary of AVJ Heights Society.
Ashish added that it was their Apartment Owners’ Association (AOA) who first raised the issue after an altercation on June 23 in which several residents were allegedly manhandled by bouncers deployed in the society. “It has been more than a year that we are trying to take the charge of maintenance. We even got a court order. But they fought with us on June 23 and many of us were injured,” alleged Ashish, adding the AOA had lodged complaints of misbehaviour against the security head several times.
