Meghan Markle's brother Thomas Markle Jr. is seen stumbling during a sobriety test and sitting handcuffed in the back of a patrol car when he was arrested for drunk driving.

The video obtained exclusively by DailyMailTV shows Oregon State Police putting the 53-year-old in handcuffs and in the back of a patrol car after he was pulled over for speeding earlier this year.

The footage of his arrest has been revealed as he continues his bid to reunite with the Duchess of Sussex before her newborn son Archie's first birthday.

Markle has constantly tried to reach out to his estranged royal sister to get her to put aside her differences so their family can be together again after years of turmoil.

Officers pulled him over in the city of Grants Pass at 1.30am on January 11th, 2019, after they caught him doing 49mph in a 30mph zone in his Chevrolet pickup.

He was driving after having an argument with his fiancee, Darlene Blout, over playing slot machines for too long.

The officer who pulled him over said he could smell alcohol on Markle's breath, his face was flushed and his eyes were bloodshot, according to the police report obtained by DailyMailTV.

When the officer told him he was speeding, Markle then rolled his eyes and said 'whatever, no way', and insisted that he just missed a sign.

Markle then struggled to take his wallet out of his pocket and got out of the car.

He is seen finally getting out of the driver's side and walking with a limp to the front of the truck.

Markle can be heard telling the officer he had three beers 'a couple hours' before he was pulled over, but very quickly changed his story and said it was actually three.

The officer then asked Markle if he would perform a field sobriety test, to which he replied 'no problem'.

He walked over to a flat area by the side of the road and was told to walk in a straight line, but is then seen leaning at his waist, limping heavily and struggling to maintain his balance.

He then grabbed his right leg and told the cop he was probably going to the hospital later that morning to check it out and then admitted he was taking Ibuprofen and Advil every day for the pain.

After failing the sobriety test, cops put Markle in handcuffs and prepared to take him to a detox center. The cop who pulled him over said he could smell alcohol on Markle’s breath, his face was flushed and his eyes were bloodshot, according to the police report obtained by DailyMailTV

Markle told the officers he had not been at work for three months, but had previously worked at a gas manufacturing plant.

After the failed sobriety test, he was arrested for DUI. He was put in handcuffs, but then complained that they were painful.

Cops then offered to put the cuffs in front of him to help with the pain.

The video shows him sitting silently in the patrol car on the way to Grants Pass detox center.

He then asked if he could call fiancée Darlene and his attorney to let them know he had been arrested.

But this isn't Markle's first run-in with law enforcement.

In January 2017, Markle Jr was arrested at his Oregon home after pulling a gun on his now-fiancée during a drunken altercation.

Blount told cops she had been in fear for her life and he spent two nights in the Josephine County Jail as a result, although the case was dropped the following month.

Blount was again previously arrested after another drunken argument and bizarrely accused Markle Jr of hitting himself during a 911 call with local cops.
