Governor meets Home Minister, MoS

Kohima, July 17 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland and Manipur, PB Acharya met with the Union Home Minister, Amit Shah and the Minister of State (Home Affairs, in charge of North East), G Kishan Reddy on separate meetings in New Delhi on July 15.


As per a press release from PRO to Governor, Acharya apprised the Home Minister on the difficulties faced by people living in the border areas due to lack of development. He stated that Public Partner Partnerships (PPP) projects should be started in these areas for the benefit of the people.


The Governor also informed the Minister on his recent meeting with vendors and other service providers during an interactive meet held at Raj Bhavan, Kohima. He stated that Food Security Act should be implemented for the benefit of the targeted group.


Acharya briefed the Minister of State (Home Affairs, in charge of North East), Reddy on the important issues relating to Nagaland during their meeting at North Block, New Delhi on July 15.


The Governor informed Reddy that people of the State are eagerly waiting for an early solution and “were hoping for an honourable and respectable solution to the over six-decades-old Naga issue.” He expressed hope that a permanent solution will be achieved at the earliest.
