Cricket World Cup 2019: Kiwi fan Henry Glogau celebrates with England after beating Blackcaps

While most New Zealand cricket fans were coming to terms with a devastating World Cup loss, one was drinking champagne with the England players in their dressing room at Lord's.

Wellington's Henry Glogau was at the final between the Blackcaps and England, and when he went looking for his friends, fate and a bit of luck took its path, as he found himself inside the player's pavilion.

After chatting with England coach Trevor Bayliss' wife, he ended up spending the night with the world champions.

"When you've got a glass of champagne in your hand and you kind of look like you could potentially be there, no one asks any questions," he told Newshub.

"I was chatting to the English coach's wife, who was a lovely lady, and I thought I'd try my luck. I said, 'Big moment, first time at Lord's, never been here before, never been upstairs' and she said, 'Come on up'.

"I thought I was going to get kicked out within the first five minutes. I just had to keep going to see how far I could push this moment and it dragged on for longer than expected."

Glogau also bumped into some of the Blackcaps players and while dreams didn't come true for New Zealand, they did for Glogau, who had a night to remember.
