Manchester United fans pinpointed a barnstorming run through midfield by Victor Lindelof as one of the stand-out moments from their side's 4-0 destruction of Leeds United.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side picked up their second successive pre-season win by cruising beyond the Championship side, with goals coming from Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, Phil Jones and Anthony Martial.

Lindelof enjoyed a solid outing in the heart of defence, partnered by Eric Bailly in a 45-minute display, before Solskjaer changed his entire side at half-time. Goal scorer Jones played alongside Chris Smalling after the break.

But it was a run breaking through the centre of the pitch by Lindelof that caught United fans' attentions. The Swede enjoyed a solid campaign for the Reds last term and appears a dead cert to feature in Solskjaer's defence for the coming campaign, while United consider who his partner should be — amid transfer interest in Harry Maguire.

United fans compared the run to the ones made by Leicester star Maguire, joking "who needs Harry Maguire" on social media.

Here's what they said:

It remains to be seen whether Solskjaer will put faith in Bailly, Jones, Smalling or even youngster Axel Tuanzebe to partner Lindelof in the coming season.

Maguire is a top target, though United would have to pay a record-breaking fee for a defender to prise him away from the King Power Stadium. The England star would no doubt be a solid signing alongside Lindelof. Regardless, the Swede appears to be going from strength to strength in a United shirt.
