Big Ten Football Media Days 2019: Schedule, how to watch on TV, live stream

Danny Lawhon

A watershed season of transition in Big Ten Conference football unofficially arrives this week with the league's annual media days in Chicago.

Longtime commissioner Jim Delany is on his way out; he's retiring after three decades on the job, with Minnesota Vikings chief operating officer Kevin Warren taking over on Jan. 1.

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer is already out, having retired following a victory over Washington in this past season's Rose Bowl. Ryan Day, 40, takes the Buckeyes' reins for his first head coaching position.

And the conference as a whole has been left out of each of the past two College Football Playoff. Some of the usual suspects (Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin, for starters) are among early favorites to stem that tide.
