Newcastle United fans may have had a bad week - but they’re determined to stay in party spirit in Shanghai.

Scores of Toon fans will descend on Shanghai this weekend and a major fan meet has been planned.

Supporters have been told to meet up at the BnC bar from 6.30pm on Friday night.

United legend Bob Moncur is expected to turn out in his ambassadorial role as the club look to wrap up their tour of China.

Fish and chips will be on the menu, and the dress code?

Black-and-white of course.

Newcastle made the papers in China after their first game in Nanjing - sadly for the wrong reasons.

The South China Morning Post reported: “Ashley Out was the call from fans in the stands and one group of fans also had placards carrying the same message.

“Others held up banners that asked for the chairman to leave in less uncertain terms.

“The fans were a mixture of locals and those who had travelled, but the sentiment was shared.”

The back page of the Shanghai Daily also did not make much better reading for United.

The headline summed up the job awaiting the new head coach.

It read: “Magpies give Bruce a rude reality check.”

The Shanghai Daily also point out Bruce’s highest finish as a manager has been 10th, once with Birmingham and again with Sunderland.

Isaac Hayden may have a question mark over his head in terms of his future but he proved to be United’s iron man in Nanjing.

Newcastle caretaker boss Ben Dawson wanted a volunteer to play the full 90 minutes because competition rules only allow 10 subs per game.

Hayden may want a move but his professionalism can’t be faulted.
