Russia to allocate $ 8.2 mln to improve Uzbekistan’s tax system

Tashkent, July 18, 2019. /Kabar/. Russia will allocate more than 515 million rubles ($8.2 million) for the development of the tax administration system of Uzbekistan, including improvement of property taxation and creation of a system of work with taxpayers, the Uzbek media reported with reference to the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

The Federal Tax Service of Russia intends to provide free technical assistance to Uzbekistan “with a view to development the tax administration system, including improving property taxation and creating a system of work with taxpayers”.

Tender winner will have to create a system of work with taxpayers, prepare methods for training tax officials, as well as the concept of its corporate identity and interior design. The work should be completed by the end of 2020.

Mikhail Mishustin, head of the Russian Federal Tax Service, announced in mid-June the project to modernize Uzbekistan's tax system. In May, a government delegation from Uzbekistan visited the Moscow Tax Inspectorate.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has approved the Tax Administration Reform Strategy. It is aimed at unifying taxes and tax regimes, combating shadow turnover, as well as simplifying tax procedures on July 10 this year.
