Lights rains likely in Delhi today, forecasts IMD

Showers in the city are likely to resume from July 24 with cloudy conditions expected from Saturday, says a scientist at IMD. ​Overnight showers in Delhi brought down the maximum temperature to 30.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning with more rain occurring through the rest of the day as overcast conditions prevailed around the capital.

NEW DELHI: Light rains are likely to occur in the city on Friday before a break in rain activity, forecasts IMD.
Overnight showers in Delhi brought down the maximum temperature to 30.4 degrees Celsius on Thursday morning with more rain occurring through the rest of the day as overcast conditions prevailed around the capital.
Palam station received 61mm of rainfall in the 24-hour period till 8.30am on Thursday — the highest single day reading for the capital this monsoon.

While the maximum temperature was five degrees below normal for this time of the season, the minimum temperature was recorded at four degrees below normal at 23.5 degrees Celsius. Kuldeep Srivastava, scientist at IMD, said showers in Delhi are likely to resume from July 24 with cloudy conditions expected from Saturday.
