A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the confirmation that Northern Irish side Crusaders will be the Molineux side’s upcoming Europa League second qualifying round opponents (official Wolves website).

Stephen Baxter’s charges overcame B36 Torshavn of the Faroe Islands 3-2 away from home on Thursday night, winning 5-2 on aggregate after their 2-0 win in Belfast in last week’s first leg.

Jordan Forsythe and Paul Heatley struck to put Crusaders two up by the half-hour mark, though Hugin Samuelsen halved the deficit before the break and Lukasz Cieslewicz found the net shortly after the restart.

However, Heatley’s second of the night midway through the second half settled nerves and the game was subsequently seen out by the visitors as they won themselves a bumper tie against the FA Cup semi-finalists.

Crusaders, who qualified for the competition after finishing fourth in the NIFL Premiership last season, will visit Molineux for the first leg of the tie on Thursday 25 July, while Wolves will travel to Belfast’s Seaview Stadium the following week on Thursday 1 August.

Here is what some of the Wanderers faithful said on social media following the opponents’ confirmation for the upcoming UEL tie:

The Molineux side is back in European competition for the first time since 1980 thanks to an impressive showing in their first season back in the Premier League, finishing seventh in the table.
