Akshay, Priyanka, Sanjay, Dia and others urge fans to donate for Assam flood victims

The massive flood in Assam has led to a lot of loss of life, property as well as wildlife. The Kaziranga National Park, too, is entirely underwater. While rescue efforts are on in full swing, Bollywood celebs, too, have taken note of the havoc caused by the calamity. While tweeting to show their support for flood victims, they have urged their fans to donate generously.
Akshay Kumarannounced that he will donate Rs 2 crore. "Absolutely heartbreaking to know about the devastation by floods in Assam. All affected, humans or animals, deserve support in this hour of crisis. I'd like to donate 1cr each to the CM Relief Fund and to Kaziranga Park rescue. Appealing to all to contribute (sic)," he tweeted. Sanjay Dutt expressed solidarity with those who were affected by the flood. The actor wrote, “My heart goes out to everyone affected by the flood situation in Assam & other North-Eastern states. Let's extend our support to them in whatever way possible! (sic)”
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who was the brand ambassador of Assam tourism, also took to her social media account to reach out to people. “Extremely devasted by all the news coming in from #Assam and other parts of India. It’s heartbreaking to read about the displacement and loss of life. My prayers with those affected,” the actress wrote and posted links that would enable people to send donations.
Meanwhile, Dia Mirza shared several updates of the flood situation and encouraged others to donate towards the relief and rehabilitation work. She also thanked Akshay Kumar for his generous gesture.
