Gas station clerk fired after telling customers 'ICE will come'

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STORYFUL)- A gas station clerk who told Mexican tourists to “go back to their country” has lost his job, after footage of the confrontation was viewed hundreds of thousands of times on social media.

In the video, the worker at a Bucky’s Mobil gas station is heard asking some customers if they are American, and telling them, “ICE will come You’re in the wrong country.”

Carolina Buitron told local media the clerk questioned the legal status of her family members when they attempted to buy food from the store. She said her family was visiting from Mexico.

Bucky’s posted to Facebook that the worker’s behavior was “inappropriate” and that he no longer worked for the company.

The Naperville Police Department said it had “reviewed” the video and was investigating.

Naperville Mayor Steve Chirico said “hate has no home” in Naperville.
