CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Hundreds of children are expected to help release ladybugs at Magnolia Plantation and Gardens on Saturday.
The event will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the kids receiving their ladybugs around 10 a.m. at the arrival of a Volkswagen Beetle designed to look like a massive ladybug.
The children will then scatter around the gardens and release their ladybugs.
Kids are encouraged to wear their favorite ladybug costume, as prizes will be awarded. The contest will take place at about 11:30 a.m.
Children must be accompanied by an adult during the event.
Garden admission is $20 for adults and $10 for children aged 6-12. Kids 5 and under can get in for free.
Magnolia Plantation and Gardens noted that complimentary passes will not be accepted for the event.
