BECAUSE of the many ills plagueing Pakistan — corruption, illegal trade and unemployment — we have forgotten to focus on children and on their education, nourishment, safety.

We see children begging on roads, many more don’t even go to school or get a proper meal to eat. The picture is gloomy.

Although article 25-A of the constitution promotes and ensures the right to free education up to 16 years, This is not followed to the letter.

Due to poverty and such issues, many children end up in the criminal justice system. Children are the bedrock and building blocks of any nation. I urge the government to come up with some solid goals to improve the lives of our children.
