Netanyahu becomes Israel’s longest-serving prime minister

He is accused of accepting gifts from wealthy businessmen and granting favours in return for positive media coverage.

Israel‘s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has become the country’s longest-serving leader.

With more than 13 years at the helm, he has surpassed Israel’s founding father, David Ben Gurion.

Netanyahu has survived scandals, crises and conflicts, winning election after election even though the country is growing more polarised.
