TIRUNELVELI: After 14 years, two young daughters coincidentally found their missing mother begging at the roadside shops near Tirunelveli Junction Railway station. According to sources, Radhika, the mother, had parted ways from her family following a dispute with her husband Maniselvam.

“The couple got married 25 years ago and had two girl children. Despite several attempts, the husband was unable to trace Radhika. Unwilling to remarry, he raised the children on his own.

While the elder daughter Ramya is working as a nurse in a private hospital in Tirunelveli, the younger one Kamala is working in a private firm in Kolkata,” said a source. The daughters visited their village two weeks ago to attend their father’s funeral. On their way back the elder daughter reportedly found a woman, who resembled Radhika, begging at the roadside shops.

“The elder daughter was 10 when her mother left the family. She kept her mother’s photo with her,” said the sources. When the daughters asked the woman her name, they got to know that she was none other than their mother. On knowing that the duo was her children, the teary-eyed mother hugged them. The daughters took her along with them, said the sources. (Names of all the family members changed)
