Irish digital ticket delivery company Tixserve has announced the signing of a flagship contract with England's Rugby Football Union (RFU) for Twickenham Stadium.

The company, based on the Maynooth University campus, confirmed it had secured the multi-year agreement for provision of secure digital ticket delivery services at the home of English rugby.

Tixserve's 'dynamic ticket' can provide maps and directions to the London stadium with transport details, enable match day real-time updates, and targeted consumer information including the ability to transact ticket-based mobile marketing and commerce before, or even during the event, the company said.

It got the deal over the line following a competitive tendering process and extensive trials.

Tixserve managing director and co-founder Pat Kirby said that depending on the pace of converting all the existing one million paper tickets to digital and on the value of digital commerce transacted on Tixserve's digital ticket that the potential value of the RFU contract to Tixserve would be "north of €250,000".
