S. Korea sets 1 percent economic growth forecast

(MENAFN) South Korea is forecast to achieve a 1 percent economic growth during the second quarter of 2019, compared to the 0.4 percent growth registered during the first quarter.

During the second quarter, the Bank of Korea set 1.2 percent as its projection for the economic growth in South Korea.

However, the central bank downgraded its forecast as a result of trade conflicts that erupted between the United States and China as well as a significant cut in semiconductor prices.

Exports of South Korea recorded a decline in June for the seventh month in a row in the middle of long trade challenges.
